Guide
Run a marketplace
Sell for your sellers from your own key, and take your commission. Split on-chain, or withheld from what you hold.
What you'll build
- Your platform → QBitFlow API: Invites a seller
- QBitFlow API → Your platform: member.joined, once they accept
- Your platform → QBitFlow API: Checkout On-Behalf-Of
- Customer wallet → Payment contract, on-chain: Pays
- Payment contract → Seller's wallet, on-chain: Direct: their share
- Payment contract → Your wallet, on-chain: Direct: your commission
- Payment contract → Your wallet, on-chain: Held: all of it, your commission withheld
- QBitFlow API → Your platform: payment.completed
- Your wallet → Seller's wallet, on-chain: Held: you release it later
- Sellers invited, then paid directly or held until you release from the dashboard
- Checkouts in each seller's name from your own key, your commission on each sale
- One webhook endpoint for every seller's events, and refunds of their sales
For platforms with sellers, creators or sub-merchants. Each seller is a member with their own space: they accept your invitation with their own account (no OAuth), then you act for them with your key (marketplace). The business side is on the marketplace page.
The steps
- Step 1: Set up, as the organizationAn account, test mode, your organization's wallets, an organization API key and one webhook endpoint: what invites sellers, acts for them and hears them.
- Step 2: Choose held or direct payouts, and your commissionPay each seller directly from their first sale, or hold their money in your wallet until you release it. Set your commission. Both are chosen per seller, at the invitation.
- Step 3: Invite sellersInvite a seller by email with their payout mode and your commission, learn when they accept from member.joined, and keep track of your sellers.
- Step 4: Sell for a sellerAct in a seller's space from your own key with On-Behalf-Of: their products, their checkouts, their payments, your commission on each sale.
- Step 5: Held funds and their releaseSee what you hold for each seller, and what a seller sees of it. Release it from the dashboard in one transfer, signed with your wallet.
- Step 6: Manage sellersChange a seller's commission, trust them so they're paid directly, see their wallets, and remove a seller when they leave.
- Step 7: Refunds in a marketplace, then go liveRefund a seller's sale and know who bears it, follow it on your endpoint, then invite your sellers again in live.
Before you start
- A server that keeps a secret (your API key) and receives HTTPS requests (your webhooks).
- An organization wallet on each chain you'll sell on (Ethereum, Base and Solana): it receives your commission and holds funds.
- For test mode, a few email addresses you control: each test seller accepts from a real inbox.
